I host ‘Beasts and Barns days out’ ; with wildlife writer and guide David Chandler.
Morning-David will guide us and help us explore and enjoy the beautiful and fascinating wildlife and habitats of Ouse Fen or Fen Drayton wildlife reserve.
Afternoon– After a lunch break we use the mornings observations and inspirations in printmaking in my studio in Elsworth. I will help you and guide you through each step of the way to create an artwork of something that has inspired you in the morning!
We transfer an image (for example of a dragonfly) from a photo (or one of David’s) or from a sketch onto plastic or card. We then cut and scratch the plastic image of the creature or landscape so that it is ready to ink and print onto paper using my Printmaking press.
It’s a relaxed day. No need for drawing skills, printmaking experience or wildlife knowledge. The session are interesting and enjoyable.
Please email me or call in for details and to book or make enquiries about these or about other dates. The days can be purchased a gift.
Days run 9.30am til 4.30pm, small groups, £70 per person.
Please bring a packed lunch. Tea and coffee at the studio is provided.
You may like to bring binoculars if you have them (although David has some to borrow), as well as telescope! Maybe bring a phone/camera, apron and sometimes people like to sketch a little bit outside (but some don’t!), so bring a sketch book if you’d like to sketch or doodle.
Cut an insect/bird out of plastic and scratch markings (templates available) then print
